6 DAYS BUDGET CAMPING MANYARA/SERENGETI/NGORONGORO

Tour Summary
Budget camping is the ideal way for those who like to “rough it” as we provide mostly bivouac pop-up tents for accommodation whereby mattresses are laid on the sewn-in ground sheet. The tents are spacious enough for two people and they have a mesh on each window to keep off insects. The guests’ safari vehicle pulls a Trailer carrying the camping equipment and a cook. All preparations at the camp are made on arrival at the campsite. Guests are often expected to help pitch the tents, but the cooking and cleaning is all left to the camping crew. We recommend visitors to bring their own sleeping bags. Public campsites provide basic washroom facilities of reasonable hygienic standard for budget camping safaris.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Drive Arusha to Lake Manyara
The tour starts with lunch in Arusha town at 1230hrs. 1330hrs, drive to Lake Manyara. Enjoy an evening game drive in Lake Manyara National Park whose inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other varieties of birdlife. Dinner and overnight at a campsite in Mto wa Mbu.

Day 2: Drive Lake Manyara to Serengeti Plains
Depart to Serengeti National Park with picnic lunches. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Dinner and overnight under tents in the Serengeti.

Day 3: Day in Serengeti
Spend a full day of game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. Meals and overnight under tents in the Serengeti.

Day 4: Drive Serengeti to Ngorongoro
Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Olduvai Gorge, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Picnic lunches will be served at the Gorge. Proceed driving to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dinner and overnight at Simba campsite.

Day 5: Day in Ngorongoro
Today you will descend 2000 feet (0ver 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for a half day crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Afternoon return to the camp for lunch. After lunch, drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight under tents.

Day 6: Drive Ngorongo back to Aruha - Depart
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha. Lunch in Arusha

MINIMUM NUMBERS:
The above prices are based on a minimum of 2 adults traveling exclusively in a vehicle. For numbers more than 2, write to us for reduced prices.

CHILDREN RATES:
Generally, children under 12 years of age, when sharing accommodation with 2 adults, pay 50% of the adult per person rate.
